So in the past couple of weeks Avery has discovered her hands. She thinks that they are quite wonderful things to chew on and has begun to use them to actually reach out for objects as well. It took a little convincing and hanging some links to where she would hit them when she was flailing her arms around, but now she knows that she can use them and repeatedly reaches for things. It made daddy's day when she actually reached for something with her left hand also, and not just the right! And I captured her today checking out her own feet for the first time. I don't think that she realizes yet that they belong to her or that she has control over them. But she was just enamored with the strange looking things that usually have socks on them!
Avery is also turning into quite the charmer. She is quick with a smile to prove to people that she is the cutest baby around. She had all the kids at church taking turns coming up to her and making her smile. Avery would look at them, smile her huge smile and then the kid would laugh, turn around and go. Followed quickly by the next kid who wanted to see it. They would come up and get Avery to smile again. Then they would laugh and on and on. And she is becoming talkative in a language all her own. I was on a trip to the grocery store the other day and she had many strangers coming up and talking to her because she was cooing so loudly and smiling at everyone who looked at her. All were impressed with the happy smiley baby!
