The trouble with the improving dexterity in an infant is that the knowledge of what they are doing does not necessarily correspond with the improved bodily control. One of the things that Avery is doing is learning how to wrap her fingers around the handle of her NUK. Unfortunately she will then pull it out of her mouth without knowing that she was the one who did it. She will then look at you and scream with the look of why did you take that from me!! It is funny during the daytime when you can see it happening and can quickly give it back to her with limited crying time. However, it is really not funny when she manages to do it several times in the wee hours of the morning. Then I have to get up calm her, soothe her and hope that she will return to sleep, usually to no avail. Oh I can't wait until she can take it out AND put it back in by herself. THANK GOD for pacifiers!!
