truly a waterbaby

To celebrate and take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather we had last week, I took Avery to the pool for the first time. In fact, we were able to go two days. Once by ourselves and once with Papa and Mimi. Who would have believed it would be in the mid 90's in mid April? But, I was not complaining and neither was Avery. She LOVED the water. She did need just a few minutes to acclimate to the water though. But once used to the temperature, she seemed to really enjoy being able to splash and kick in the water. We can hardly wait for summer to get here so we can spend more time at the pool!

Avery also loved riding on Papa's shoulders down to the pool. She rested her chin on the back of his head, stuck out her tongue and just enjoyed the view... and yes she did occasionally chew and drool on his hat as well.

Avery's new pool float. It was pool float # 2, the first one didn't work so well. It was bigger and completely inflatable= too big for Avery and a dizzy mommy. We both like this one.

Yes, Avery does seem to have her mother's skin tone for now. We are hoping she will eventually get a little bit more of her daddy's skin coloring. But until then she will be lathered with sunblock. Oh, and it is porcelain, not pasty white.... :)
