Avery wore her red, white and blue tank with a jean skirt to be festive. What is more American than that? Mimi tried to get her to wear a giant white bow in her hair also.
It only lasted a short time. Look at how proud of herself she is for getting it out!
We spent the day at Uncle Gary and Aunt Marcy's house enjoying the weather and their pool. Avery showed her appreciation by clapping, a new found and much loved trick. 
Avery also enjoyed an entire piece of watermelon courtesy of Papa. 
Although, we found out that it is much better to give Avery small pieces than to let her just suck on the entire piece. She would try to get as much of it in her mouth as possible and was enjoying just the taste of it for awhile. Then she took a huge bite with her NEW bottom teeth, attempted to chew it for about a minute, started to choke and spit it out about 3 feet away! Other than that piece though she ate the entire rest of the slice and was looking for more. Guess she likes watermelon.
Due to Avery's sleep schedule, she was unable to view any fireworks this year. But mommy and daddy were just as pleased that she slept through all the noise when the fireworks were actually going off. Hopefully next year we will be able to watch them as a family and get to share some pictures of that with you.
