Christmas Eve 2009

We had a peaceful Christmas Eve; as peaceful as you can get with a toddler! After a great Christmas Eve service at church, we went out to dinner with some family and then came home to spend the rest of the evening as a family of three. A family tradition we decided to start, was to get new pajamas for Christmas Eve, to wear for that night and Christmas morning. We eased into it this year by getting Avery some new jammies. Next year the whole family will get in on the new tradition!
Avery was learning how to open presents on her own. But really liked taking the bow off of the present and putting it on her head. She would also try to put it on our heads as well! This process took quite a while and we kept having to remind her there was an actual present underneath of the bow. She continued this all through Christmas too. We kept finding presents without any bows, and Avery walking around holding them to her head!

She finally opened it to see the pajamas... and then quickly went off to bed. Notice, she held onto the bow throughout the entire opening process!
